Carbon dioxide  CO2  gas blasting is a technology that uses high-pressure carbon dioxide gas to apply huge pressure to rocks, and in this way, rocks are blasted and broken. This technology uses the characteristics and principles of carbon dioxide gas to crack rocks through the pressure difference generated inside the rock while applying high pressure.
Carbon dioxide is a common gas that appears as a colorless and odorless gas at normal temperature and pressure. However, under high pressure, carbon dioxide gas becomes very compressed and forms high-pressure gas. This high-pressure carbon dioxide gas has high energy and pressure, enough to exert huge pressure on rocks.
When implementing carbon dioxide gas blasting technology, carbon dioxide gas must first be injected into the pores of the rock. As the gas is injected, the gas will occupy the gaps inside the rock and gradually increase the pressure inside the rock. When a certain pressure is reached, the rock begins to be unable to withstand the pressure and cracks appear.
These cracks begin to expand from the injection point to the surrounding area, forming an extended fracture surface. As the pressure continues to increase, these fracture surfaces gradually expand, eventually leading to the crushing of the rock. By controlling the pressure of carbon dioxide gas and the injection method, the fracture range and degree of rock crushing can be effectively controlled.
Compared with traditional blasting technology, carbon dioxide gas blasting has some unique advantages. First, it does not produce open flames and sparks, so it is safer and suitable for some flammable and explosive places. Secondly, carbon dioxide gas can be used in mines and other closed spaces without producing a lot of smoke and exhaust gas, reducing environmental pollution and the emission of hazardous substances. In addition, carbon dioxide gas can also be precisely controlled in some special cases to reduce the impact on the surrounding environment and equipment.
Carbon dioxide gas blasting technology has been widely used in mining, building demolition and tunneling. By using carbon dioxide gas blasting technology, rocks can be efficiently broken and removed, improving mining efficiency and project progress. In the future, with the continuous improvement of environmental friendliness and safety requirements, carbon dioxide gas blasting technology is expected to play a role in more fields and make greater contributions to the development of related industries.

The rock cuttings are then returned up the center tube, allowing for efficient sample collection.
